FAST & EASY Hotel Ticket Method in Animal Crossing: New Horizons 3.0

How to Earn All 57 Hotel Items as Quickly as Possible

The 3.0 update introduced one of the biggest new progression systems in Animal Crossing: New Horizons: the Hotel. Along with it came a brand-new currency, Hotel Tickets, used to unlock 57 exclusive hotel items, including furniture, décor, and special Nintendo-themed rewards.

If you try to earn tickets casually, the process can feel slow. But as shown in the video, there’s a fast, repeatable loop that lets you grind thousands of tickets efficiently without complicated setups.

Below is a clear, step-by-step breakdown of the fastest hotel ticket method, rewritten in a simple, human-friendly way.

What the Hotel Is (Quick Overview)

Before grinding tickets, make sure you’ve unlocked the Hotel:

  • You must complete the main story of Animal Crossing: New Horizons
  • Visit your pier to access the Hotel area (new in 3.0)
  • The Hotel works like a mini Happy Home Paradise

Inside the Hotel, you:

  • Design guest rooms
  • Earn Hotel Tickets
  • Spend tickets at Graham’s shops to unlock exclusive items

Step 1: Set Up Your Dock for Fast Grinding

To make ticket farming painless, set up a small “workstation” right on the dock near the Hotel.

You’ll want at least four things placed outside:

  1. DIY crafting table
Any type works (mini DIY table is perfect)
  2. Cooking appliance
    Example: stonework kitchen
    (Used for food-based crafting requests)
  3. Storage access
A storage shed or anything that gives full access to your home storage
  4. Warp pipe (optional but highly recommended)
Place one near your house and one near the dock for instant travel

Once this setup is done, you’ll rarely need to run back and forth.

Step 2: Understand How Hotel Tickets Are Earned

There are two main ways to earn tickets at the Hotel.

Designing guest rooms (main source)

Talk to Leilani inside the Hotel.

  • There are 8 standard rooms + 1 VIP room
  • Each completed room gives 200 Hotel Tickets
  • Room design requirements are extremely lenient

💡 Key trick from the video:
You don’t need to design anything fancy.

You can:

  • Enter the room
  • Place one random item
  • Select “All done”

Even a room completed in under 10 seconds still pays the full 200 tickets.

After your first set of rooms:

  • You’ll earn 200 tickets per day
  • Resetting the day resets the reward

DIY Donation Box (bonus tickets)

Outside the Hotel is a DIY Donation Box.

  • Accepts crafted DIY items
  • Resets every Monday
  • Each Monday, 4 items earn DOUBLE tickets

Example:

  • Item worth 75 tickets → 150 tickets with the bonus

With bulk crafting now available, this becomes very fast—especially if you pull materials directly from storage.

📌 Tip:
The game highlights craftable requests, including ones you already have in storage, so you don’t waste materials.

Step 3: Spend Tickets at Graham’s Shops (Smartly)

Once you start earning tickets, visit Graham, who runs two shops:

Outdoor shop (discount shop)

  • Sells 2 discounted items per day
  • Much cheaper ticket cost
  • Best value—always check here first

Indoor shop (full catalog)

  • Ships items to your mailbox
  • Costs more tickets
  • Limited to 5 orders per day

In total:

  • There are 57 unique hotel items
  • Buying everything outright costs ~11,000 tickets
  • Graham’s shop expands gradually as you buy more items

👉 If you don’t see all 57 items yet, keep purchasing, more unlock over time, including special Nintendo-themed items near the end.

The Fast Grind Method (Time Travel Loop)

This is the core strategy shown in the video.

Weekly reset loop

Because:

  • DIY bonus items reset every Monday
  • Leilani’s room rewards reset with the day

You can:

  1. Earn tickets (rooms + DIY box)
  2. Save and exit the game
  3. Open Nintendo Switch System Settings
  4. Turn off Synchronize Clock via Internet
  5. Jump forward 7 days (to the next Monday)
  6. Reload the game
  7. Repeat the process

Each reset gives:

  • New double-ticket DIY requests
  • Another 200 tickets from Leilani
  • Refreshed shop inventory

⚠️ Important note:
Time travel does not break Animal Crossing, but other Switch games may react differently. Use at your own discretion.

⏳ How Long Does It Take Without Time Travel?

If you play normally:

  • ~200 tickets per day
  • ~11,000 tickets needed
  • Roughly 50+ days to unlock everything

With time travel and crafting:

  • You can grind thousands of tickets in a single session

Both playstyles are valid, the game doesn’t punish either.

To maximize Hotel Tickets fast:

  • Set up a dock workstation
  • Speed-run room designs (don’t overthink them)
  • Use the DIY Donation Box every Monday
  • Buy discounted items first
  • Reset days or weeks if you want to grind faster

There are 57 exclusive items, and once you unlock them all, the Hotel becomes one of the most rewarding long-term systems in the entire update.
